Anjuman Mohibban-e-Urdu Hind, Qatar is the group of poets and discerning individuals who are guardians and preservers of Urdu language and culture in foreign lands. Founded in November 2004, this association provides a platform for poets and Urdu enthusiasts to sustain their literary pursuits.
Although several literary organizations thrive in Doha, Qatar, Anjuman Mahban-e-Urdu Hind holds a unique position due to its pure Indian identity. Over the past years, the association has made vigorous efforts to highlight Urdu’s significant role in the independence of the country on important occasions such as Indian Independence Day and Republic Day, efforts of which today’s and to some extent the previous generation are unaware.
The Anjuman holds an esteemed position in Qatar for its monthly poetic sessions, where poets from India and Pakistan residing in Qatar enthusiastically participate. Moreover, the association celebrates Indian Republic Day and Independence Day ceremonies with great pomp and show, which are considered records in themselves.
Anjuman Mahban-e-Urdu Hind, Qatar also takes pride in being an active member under the auspices of the Indian Cultural Center (ICC) in Qatar.
